Typo London 2011

This year London, and the UK for that matter, finally got the design conference it has for so long been so sorely missing.

The Typo conferences have been taking place in Berlin since 2005 and has been such a massive success within the worldwide design community that it was decided to bring it to London. This was not an opportunity that The Potting Shed wanted to miss so Managing Director Jay and myself (Creative Director Al) hopped on the plane and prepared ourselves for cultural overload.

With 40 speakers over three days the schedule was intense but the diversity and depth of talks was incredible. From the creative director of X-box to the creative lead at Google, the R&D lead at Pixar to design icon Neville Brody the content and subject shifted across all fields of design.

We believe passionately at The Potting Shed that Guernsey is a wonderful place to be a designer, however for it to be viable it is fundamental to the growth of both the individual and the company that team members get off the island and feed themselves creatively. Whether it be exhibitions, or events like this one, the experience broadens and energises us which inevitably feeds down to clients getting a better end product.

I won't go through each and every speaker, you can check that out on the Typo London blog, but i will run through a list of our top three over a series of blogs coming soon. In the meantime here is a montage of just a few of the amazing speakers ... roll on Typo 2012, the Shed will be there in force next time.
