Welcome to the first in a series of blogs where we introduce you to the incredible people we collaborate with at The Potting Shed.
We're in the process of sprucing up our studio and the first stage of that process had to be the signage. After all how can we convince our clients of the importance of brand and signage if we totally ignore it ourselves. So it seems the perfect time to introduce you to the the amazing Mr Smith and the talented guys who work with him at Smith Signs.
I popped down to see Dan because they were in the process of manufacturing the final and most exciting piece of signage for us, a massive sign composed of loads of laser etched 3D objects (as per our brand). When it's finished we'll post again but for now this should give you a taster of what's to come.
It's all cut on this incredible computer driven laser etching machine that Dan is rightfully very proud of.
"You can do pretty much anything on this thing"
...says Dan,
"from glass and plastic to wood and metal, you can cut and etch at multiple depths with pinpoint precision."
But that's just the tip of the iceberg as far as Smith Signs' capabilities go and you get this overwhelming feeling when you're down there that they are like kids who've been let loose in a sweetshop. There's a gadget for just about anything.
"The great thing here is that we have everything under one roof"
Dan continues,
"which means we don't have to outsource anything. When it comes to promotions and signage, we can tackle pretty much anything right here. We've got large scale wood routers, a full screen printing studio, vinyl cutting facilities and much more".
The bottom line is we can't recommend these guys highly enough. They've been doing it since 1970 and they're busier than ever which speaks for itself. Just before we sign off, here are some shots of the signage they've done for our studio so far.
There's still lots of work to be done but thanks to Dan and his crew we're heading in the right direction. We'll let you know when the big sign arrives ... as you can probably tell we're rather excited.
