Royal stamps are never the easiest assignment. Briefs are tight and on top of client approval you also have to get approval from Buckingham Palace before printing can commence. However, we've been asked to do quite a few royal issues over the years and we weren't about to turn down Her Majesty now.
Guernsey Posts issue celebrates Queen Elizabeth II and her 65th year since her ascension to the throne. After trawling several thousand images of the Queen we selected a set of images that not only captured our monarch throughout the years but also were unified by their sense of light and shade. These were then threaded together with stanzas from the National Anthem, set in gold to contrast with the dark backgrounds and add a sense of opulence.
